In this fun and interactive class, you will learn how to make kombucha tea in your own kitchen! You will learn the fascinating microbiology and biochemistry of Kombucha, and learn to work with the SCOBY, a cellulose-based biofilm. The wet-lab experience include:
- Hands-on experience with light microscopy
- Taking images and videos with your own smartphone
- Gram Staining of micro-organisms
- Exploring a wide range of biological specimens under microscope (from plants to insets to animal tissues)
